I want to do a group of four what-if-someone-put-on-the-bosses'-masks kindasorta badass gejinkas of the four bosses from MM.

Maybe with a fifth for the skull kid and MM itself.

I know it's not even a hard one, but I want to do it RIGHT.
I won't do it until I've gotten good enough at sewing that I think I could do it justice. I've seen too many shitty uniforms.

The Eva unitis are not impossible. An old school cosplayer named Tikki made this, and it was the 3rd costume I think she ever had worked on. She wore it an Otakon in 1998.
Now The picture is crappy, but I saw this up close in person and touched it. This was indeed epic work.
At that same Otakon, a few Japansese cosplayers came from overseas and made Shinji's unit 01, and that circle looking angel with the black and white stripes.

It was Epic shit back then

OP here. God, I'm too used to /a/; I gave up on this thread after about 5 minutes with no replies, thinking nobody gave a damn, then I dig back a couple pages and find all these replies.

While I've seen a good number of Eva costumes (some good, some really, really bad), my dream Eva 00 would be as "authentic" as possible, for lack of a better word, including full metal armor and operating shoulder bays. I've actually got a good amount of the engineering work done for the mechanics of it, but the real trick is trying to make the shoulder bays move like they did in the anime; they couldn't just sit or balance on the shoulder. I also have plans for a collapsable Lance of Longinus.

My second, and probably far more attainable dream cosplay was Protoman, complete with an arm cuff that converted to a buster (the mechanics on this are pretty simple, it'd just take some good craftsmanship) The real trick would be making the boots so that you didn't walk like a retard.

I had some extra plans for the boots, like a light shock setup to literally add a little spring to your step, cutting down on dealing with the weight of them, along with adding a little bit more fluidity to your stride, despite the cumbersome footwear, but that would be pretty difficult, and require some extra metalwork to support the whole setup

tl;dr - I go totally overboard with cosplay ideas.

We're going to be putting a tonne of effort into three SC costumes, (Ashelotte, Raphael and Amy), so I'm planning on rewarding my group with hiring a win photographer.

I'm not looking foreward to wearing this to a con, though. I'm making nearly all of it of metal, (latex for the neck/chest and legs and stuff), so... I don't know how the hell I'll be able to move, and if I'll be able to sit.
