You can jailbreak your stone with dynamite, don't update it though or you'll just end up with a brick.
>> Anonymous 09/29/09(Tue)10:45 No.6014953
It doesn't matter what the specs of the stone are irrelevant if you don't use it to it's full potential.

If you're going to get a limestone only to smash someone over the head, you should have just gone with Granite.

marble.

always marble.
>> Anonymous 09/29/09(Tue)10:47 No.6014968
It doesn't really matter, as long as it's a sedimentary rock-type. Sure, metamorphic rock has it's cool properties and shiny veneer, but when you need a rock than can do it all, choose a nice Quartz, or perhaps some of that limestone i've been hearing about.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Granite, is in fact, GNU/Granite, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Granite. Granite is not a stone unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU stone made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full stone as defined by POSIX.

Many stone users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Granite", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Granite, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the stone's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an stone, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete stone. Granite is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Granite added, or GNU/Granite. All the so-called "Granite" stones are really GNU/Granite stones.
