1606351 - Denim guide

I saw this on a forum and thought I might as well share it with you guys.

+ Point of Raw Denim (aka dry, unwashed)?

Simple. Buy an unwashed pair of denim and as you wear them more and more you watch the denim progress. Usually with denim like 7 for All Mankind and Rock and Republic, the denim goes through series of washing process to give it a worn look. Raw denim is unwashed before being sold. With wear, the denim loosens and fades which will form to your body. With every wear, creases will form and eventually indigo rubs off. The color will fade creating patterns. This is typical in higher stress areas such as whiskers (upper thigh creases), honeycombs (behind the knee creases), and down the thigh to the knee. You are creating what is seen on a typical wash on many designer jeans (since many washes try to mimic a natural fade).

+ One Wash? Rinsed?

One wash has many characteristics of raw denim. Raw denim comes untreated and unwashed while a one wash denim could used to be raw but have been washed once and shrunk. One-wash denim is typically referring to raw denim that has been washed one time before being sold in order to eliminate the shrinkage and the need for a soak once purchased. Also, it will still fade exactly like any other raws. Rinsed denim is something quite different in which the indigo is locked in and they will not produce fades. An example of one-wash would be some of the one-wash models of skull, pbj and such that Blue in Green sells. One-wash jeans are basically produced to simplify the process of buying and wearing raw denim and to ensure a proper fit and consistent sizing since when buying raw unsanforized pairs the post-soak measurements will vary based on the method of soaking. An example of a rinsed denim would be like 88z or 8aa in diesel where the denim appears raw but is actually treated and will stay dark forever.

Washed denim have been rinsed, with either additional washing, fake distressing, or forced fades.

593853 - FASHION KNOWLEDGE - Modeling

Hello /fa/, don't stand up. I'm here to drop some fashion knowledge on you. I think the most common source of comedy I get from my beloved /fa/ is all of your impressions on modeling. I mean I can understand if you want to market yourself to the opposite agency but you all take it to a new level. Let's start out easy eh?

First of all, almost everyone can be a model. All it takes is a douchebag with a camera and suddenly you're a model. However, it takes actual talent to be a "professional model." Those are the guys and girls signed to agencies and the ones who are actually paid. So the next time you see some retarded scenekid/miranda just remember, they really could model. But you can do anything for free if someone is willing to take you. For the most part though a majority of "models" have little or insufficient talent and from this point on I will be referring to professional models.

What makes a professional model? Well it needs to be a profession and while some models can manage this freelance most who can actually command payment are signed to a /modeling agency/.

There is a difference between a modeling agency and talent agency/talent search/model convention/scam. Model agencies are in place to book jobs and find work for the model and then take 20% of everything that model makes but if you're signed to one you have access to all of the high profile jobs unavailable to an unrepresented model.

Clients work through ad agencies who work through modeling agencies any other type of representation is a waste of money.

Modeling agencies have one job and most are based in the big cities i.e. New York, LA, London, etc. In order for you to be a professional model you have to be signed to a modeling agency for all intents and purposes of this FASHION KNOWLEDGE.

The young man looks approachable and respectable. BUT OH NOES - HE'S WEARING A GRAPHIC TEE+BLAZER!

Looking like this, the man will get more pussy than all of you put together (btw, I'm taking about ATTRACTIVE women here, nerdy artsy fugly virgin girls don't count :-))

I love how you guys complain about girls not wanting to sit next to you on buses. Have you ever wondered why that is? It's because you look like you're fucking 30. It's creepy.

My advice to you: STOP TRYING SO HARD. I'm not saying everybody go buy ironic tees, Lacoste polos, Hollister sweaters and cargo pants. When you're out shopping, don't think what /fa/ would think. Buy clothes that YOU are comfortable with. Don't feel like wearing a scarf with your peacoat? Don't wear it then. Want to wear light jeans and a graphic tee? Go right ahead.

Just remember - if girls don't want to sit next to you on buses, YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING WRONG!

I need your help.
I was recently given an allover pokemon jacket for my birthday. Fifty dollars, for a jacket that's like twice my size. Problem is, I don't really know how I can wear a jacket that's so freakin' humongous and out-there without looking like a total idiot. I think it's adorable, and it's really rather comfortable, so I'd hate to just set it aside and never wear it.

So /fa/, I ask you this:
Is it possible for a skinny bitch to actually pull off wearing a jacket twice her size? How could one successfully go out in public with an enormous pokemon jacket without looking stupid?
I know I'm probably going to get flamed for it being pokemon, but okay. I love you anyway /fa/.

Get a few uncoated asprins and a few dabs of water. Once they have absorbed the water get some honey and a small amount will do. Mix it all together. Leave on 10 min and gently wash off.
